Jane Roper
Writer
MFA, Iowa’s Writers Workshop
BA, Anthropology, Williams College
After college, via a rather circuitous path, Jane settled into a career as a copywriter (much to her own surprise) and began writing fiction and essays before and after hours. For over 15 years, Jane Roper has crafted messages and created campaigns for clients ranging from banks to biotech to beer. Jane began her career in the fundraising and communications department of ACCION International, a non-profit micro-lending organization. Over the years, Jane’s work has been featured in Adweek and TIME magazines and recognized by the One Show and Francis W. Hatch Awards. She is perpetually fascinated by what makes different kinds of people tick (hence her BA in anthropology) and bring that curiosity and insight to her work. Her number one goal, always, is to create work that’s right for the client – that speaks in their voice, supports their brand, and achieves their goals in strategic (and sometimes surprising) ways. She catches on quickly, works fast, and keeps her ego in a cage in her basement where it can’t cause any trouble.
