Senior Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Creative Director
Senior Designer is a position intermediate between Designer and Creative Director. The Senior Designer reports to a Creative Director and will work within a design team lead by the Creative Director. The Senior Designer is responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards of design quality. The Senior Designer not only strives for creative excellence, but maintains a professional demeanor with clients, vendors and colleagues; demonstrates proactive involvement and open communication in all aspects of job; and contributes to the overall spirit of the studio. The Senior Designer must demonstrate a solid track record of team leadership, language skills, problem solving, design awards, and a good aptitude for client relations.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
– BFA in Fine Arts required, MFA preferred
– 4+ years of graphic design experience
– Strong communication skills
– Strong design and conceptual skills
– A passion for great design
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Leadership
Senior Designers are leaders in the creative team in all aspects of their job. In addition, the Senior Designer may be asked to supervise one or more Designers on a project (though the Creative Director will be ultimately responsible for the performance of the Designer).
– Design
A Senior Designer works closely with a Creative Director to conceive, develop, and implement design solutions in both print and interactive media. A senior designer should strive for a high level of design quality, demonstrate a commitment to seeking creative solutions and advancing the level of design, exercise imagination and creativity in his/her thinking and work, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
